2014 RecapThe Auburn Tigers were on fire early in 2014, and sitting on top of the world after a 41-7 trouncing of the LSU Tigers, a victory that had them sitting at 5-0. Things got a little unsettled after that and the Tigers were up and down, losing to Mississippi State, beating Texas A&M, and losing to both Alabama in the final regular season game and Wisconsin in the Outback Bowl.  Read More

2015 Preview – Auburn gets a new signal caller under center as Nick Marshal takes over. Marshal is going to be asked to throw selectively, but he is a player that has all the traits necessary for success. We anticipate Guz Malzahn will lean heavily on his running game as Marshal grows into the position. When he does, watch out for Seniors Ricardo Louis and D’haquille Williams to play a big role in the passing attack. As for the running game the Tigers like so much, it seems the coaching staff is looking forward to having Alex Kozan back in the lineup to run block while the load gets broken up between Jovon Robinson and Peyton Barber, two bruisers that punish defenses, and Roc Thomas, a shifty runner with big play potential.

Auburn should be much improved on defense as Will Muschamp takes over as Defensive Coordinator. Muschamp does have the advantage of having Carl Lawson back from injury to anchor his defensive line and provide a pass rush. Pairing Lawson with Senior DaVonte Lambert and Junior Montravius Adams, both retruning starters, gives the Tigers some flexibility of defense as they move from a straight 3-4 to a flexible 4-3 under Muschamp. In the secondary, Auburn has one of the better corners in the SEC in Jonathan Jones, along with Junior Rudy Ford.

2015 Snapshot – We see an Auburn Tigers team that figures to come on in a tough psychical style early in the season before morphing into a more balanced offensive attack. They’ll have to play tough and control the ball early as the Tigers face high flying Louisville in their opener and travel to LSU’s Death Valley in Game 3. The rest of the schedule is challenging but not overwhelming up until the season closer with Alabama.
